MG Strike Freedom White Keita Custom ver Kain

Hi everyone. This is the one of the recent commission job that I have received. It a MG Strike Freedom. Time to give a boost to all who wanted to join the MG course starting soon.

I had to admit I’m not a fan of strike freedom but nevertheless is a job so had to get it done for him. I was approached by the customer to have it modded into somehow close to Keita’s Kira White Custom.

But not wanting to re-created the same kit. I have told him that I wanted to re-do it in my way. But the colour scheme will be kept as Keita as I respects Keita’s work and the credits given to him and some remodeling intel were taken from his design. Example the chest piece which is squarish which alot of people like, The rest were taken from ideas from resin conversion kit and from my MG Impulse modding design. It one job which I like and I’m just glad that the customer like it more that I do. I felt I have not done a very good job in this as I felt there might be more that I could put into but somehow this is the design people like to see and the conversion kit design customer likes to have. If there is a chance to re-work on another MG Strike Freedom. I promise I will try my very best to mod my own version

Ok here are the photos and pardon me for my wall of texts 🙂

1/100 scale Walker Machine Gallop Type

This build is one of my entry to show my support to local scale modeling scene and it being held by Plamo Outthere where they are one of the major scale modeling forum in Singapore. You could click on the links on the side of the bar to check it out. It a very cool website that local and foreign modelers share our thoughts and ideas with.

This is my 1st time joining WOOB. I have choosen to use this kit as my entry. It a very old kit and was given to me by GreenZaku(He built the Keberos that has the title “Here be Dragons” that won BAKUC best new challenger last year. Kudos to you bro and I will be touching on this kit and you can keep your horizon eyes on this wip. It for you :wink-wink:

This kit is release by Bandai under the animation XABUNGLE. it a very old animations and I didn’t have any chance to catch it at all. And this Walker Machine is sort of like the standard mech warriors type like tank that does sentry.

Photobucket

Even though it a 1/100 scale, It actually very small size when competely build. There is only 2 runners and a water slide decal. The decal is still well kept

Photobucket

The detail on the kit is very detail also. You can actually see the smelting or grafting of parts that is hot-ironed on like those seen on actual tanks and model kits itself.

I will be doing this color scheme. It has a very Nazi’s feel to it. Can hopefully can learn more about weathering and rusting effects on this kit.

So till next time 🙂 Will update everyone on this kit WIP 🙂

AFA 08 event

Hi everyone. Been a while that I have update my blog. Was busy with the events like AFA 08 and M-con. I have took some photos of the events to share with everyone here. This is the 1st major SMC official outing. Do check it out. After this next week I will upload the M-con event.

The AFA tickets booth. I was meeting with the SMC members there as early as 6am. And early in the morning there is already a long queue and lucky thing is we managed to queue at the front few spots. The reason we came so early as a team it because we’re all hardcore Gundam fan and the original creator Mr Kunio Okawara san will be making an apperances at AFA and we’re queuing so early so we could lay our hands on the 1st 20 MG RX-78 ver 2.0 Gundam where we will be given a ticket to have a privileges to have our purchase autographed and photos taken with the MASTER. If without him I don’t think we will have a chance to build model kits that is called Gundam nowdays.

Now for the solid part of the event show.
When we entered the event hall. We’re greeted by a huge size Gundam Exia place at the BAKUC top ten entries corner. Man I tell you those works are solid. Good job to all selected modelers.

Now for some highlight of the events. Lots of booths and showcase of the latest release from different toys and model kits company. Meet up with one of my friend who works at Latendo also. And they have great offers too over there. So do drop by their shop at Kallang leisure park when you have time. I’m sure their shops will suffice your Otaku needs 🙂

Now after gotten our RX-78 ver 2.0 Gundams and walking around abit we proceed to have our lunch at the food court and discuss our battle plans on what to hoot later LOLZ.
Photobucket
Photobucket

And after lunch we all head back for Mr Kunio Okawara san’s speech session. He covered the design terminology of gundams and alot of his works. If you miss the chance you may never have this chance again as it very rare for the designer to make an apperance to address his work outside Japan. And we get to meet him up close later in the evening also. 🙂

Now is the fun part. After Mr Kunio Okawara san’s speech has ended. We proceed to the seminar hall to “chop” our seats in the front row. It about 2pm at that point of time and we have a 3 hours gaps in between. So we entertain ourselves playing PSP or doing some write out for the upcoming SMC official website.

Photobucket
Photobucket

And we took the seminar hall table to have our own speech session ( Jus random fooling around as it such a long wait….)

Finally Mr Kunio Okawara san appears for his autograph session (Yes the time is finally upon us 🙂 ) And yes SMC members is at the 1st this time round.
Photobucket

I was the 1st in line and Mr Kunio Okawara was getting seated and I could see the smile when he saw my MG Zaku II on the table with the model kits that I have bring down with the RX-78 which is purchase by one of the SMC members but sadly he is not able to stay behind due to he is working afternoon shift so I have to help him get his kit signed also.
Photobucket

Mr Kunio Okawara san sign the RX-78 OYW shield for me with the gold pen we prepare earlier,
Photobucket

And the MG ZAKU II shield too
Photobucket

Me holding my MG ZAKU II while watching closely as Mr Kunio Okawara signed on the Zaku II shield. Mr Kunio Okawara signed carefully on the shield as he didn’t want to damaged the paint job as he told me. He sure is happy as I’m the only one who bring a completed airbrushed painted kit for him to sign and it his own design, Gundam and Zaku ^_^

If you notice that all of us have a red arm bands as it
the official item given to the 1st group of SMC members only.
Only the 1st group who register as SMC will be entitle to it.
After that there will be no more as it produces in small quantity.

Photobucket

Now the aftermath. Simcher the SMC event coordinator smiling so happily as ever after the autograph session. man we’re all tired out by then. The time if I’m didn’t remember wrongly is around 6 pm plus.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

Now the good things has been shown. I would like to share this with everyone. Now there are some things that really piss me off. I’m sure those who come so early in the morning and queuing for the tickets will feel the pain I felt. As you can see this photo. All the members of SMC has pre-order our tickets and we’re the 1st few who managed to get in the start of the long queuing line. And when we collected out ticket and when we proceed to the entrances and waiting for the time for us to proceed into the event hall.

My goodness there are alot of people inside there. Some of them are event helper or staffs and there are also cosplayers who “got the pass” got in there earlier than the others and they managed to grab all the good rare stuffs 1st before us without breaking a sweat where we pre-order our tickets and come so early to collect our tickets/ Queue so early in the wee hours and this is the things that greeted us. We ask the event organizer and express our unhappiness and this thin old man who was wearing a blazer and having a grey coloured hair (You know who you are ) just shrugs us off by saying ” There is nothing we can do” What kind of answer was this? And he didn’t even bother to say we’re sorry or offer some kind of better excuse to us. Hopefully this event organizer can wake up and show some respects and gratitude towards those who are very supportive towards this event. Come to think about it, If there is no fans to support your events. You think you will be able to pull it off? I doubt so.

Photobucket

This photograph is taken before we are given the chance to enter the event hall where those who pre-order the ticket are given a privilege to enter the event hall 15min earlier. But this photo already show it defeat the purpose and they broke their promise. Where in the world are we given the privilege? Those good rare stuffs is all taken by others as you can see from the photo. It sure spoilt our days early in the morning.

If AFA event organizers you are looking at this. Hopefully you could at least give us some explanations to put our mind at ease as you can see from the photos taken has speaks for itself.

The Exorcist MS team of Zeon (BAKUC 08)

Hi everyone. This is my this year entry to BAKUC. It tough to rough out the surface of the hanger itself but managed to gave it a old wash down dirty look. When thru the reference from gundam weapons on hanger design and took the idea of “Used Future” weathering from star wars .

Everything in the hanger is all beat up and dusty and dirty due to the nature of non-stop combat sortie during the one year war period of UC era. Adopt the idea from MS igloo of an experimental unit called “Scar-Face” hence the face bear a scar that is done by the pilot to signalize the unit name itself. As being deploy by Zeon. Hence this Espionage Mobile Suit is developed to combat the “White Akuma or Akuma” which is known by the Zeon for it capabilities in combat. As you all can see this Exorcist MS Zaku II has managed to claim it trophy which is a real type Rx-78 back to their Zeon hanger for closer examination to help further developed better weapons R&D. The Zaku Unit has spray coolent agent on the exposed damaged area on the Rx-78 to prevent it from bursting into flame and also make it safer for the tech team to work on retrieving important data on the RX-78. And the soldiers at the hanger is getting very busy cleaning up the oil leakages that the Rx-78 has made too. On the other hand a DE-briefing by the Captain/pilot to his soldiers at the front of the Zaku II.

SFX 1/6 scale Predator WIP 3

Hi everyone, This is the 3rd WIP of this SFX 1/6 scale Predator. After last week most of the paint job has been done. Only it only left the netting on the body and the spots that a Predator’s body has. The netting it hard to draw but after a while you will get used to it LOLZ 🙂 I have still left the dreadlocks not fully done yet. Will post again soon next week once I have the dreadlocks done and washing done 🙂

SFX 1/6 scale Predator WIP 2

Hi everyone. This is the 2nd update for the SFX 1/6 scale Predator. After last week when the toning of the inner flesh body. I have done up the main paint job for the flesh toning final phase and the armor pieces itself. As you all can see. The dreadlocks are carefully masked and painted using low pressure from the compressor to get the correct toning. The Bio Mask has been painted and the inner eye pieces masked and sprayed. Maybe due to the lighting you are not able to see the mesh inside the eye piece. My camera can macro till so close …Haiz… Time to get a better one LOLZ. Now after all these are done. This kit will only left the drawing of the netting on it body and washing it before I can fill it with Plaster and set it on a base for display 🙂 Till then stay tune 🙂

SFX 1/6 scale Predator

Hi everyone 🙂 Been quite some time that I have not done any update. I have recently fallen sick due to flu. Bad flu indeed that make my head goes dizzy and sleepy. But I have fully recovered and are back in action again. This time I have managed to come up with a WIP for building Vinyl kit and the kit I have choose is the SFX 1/6 scale Predator from the Original Predator that feature Arnold 🙂

Ok here goes, After I have managed to clean up all the mold release agent from this kit after washing, I have clean up and cut all the parts at their connector points where I’m going to glue them together after all the paintings has been done. I will do a detail tutorial on how to prep the vinyl kit for painting in a later date and the places that you can get them in Singapore 🙂 So do look forward to it 🙂 Ok here is how it looks like after all the cleaning and cutting 🙂

Photobucket

Photobucket

With flash on as I mostly do all my painting at night. As I’m afraid that the pictures won’t turn out well due to low lighting 🙂
Photobucket

Ok now for the meatier part of the kit itself. Painting. For figure painting there is a few things you will have to take note. It the toning of the body itself and always start from the lighter colour to the darker colours. So always finish the flesh or the most inner parts and work your way out. The black hand paint that you see is the separator that I have created so later after all the flesh toning has been done. I will move to painting the flesh tone and adding the skin dots and netting. After all that is done then I will mask the flesh parts then follow by painting the armor and dreadlocks on the head itself.

Here is how it looks after I have finish toning the body and are ready for the final flesh paint treatments.

Anubis GN-X Unit 00

Hi guys.
SMC is holding a GN-X group build which will be display at M-workshop’s annual Scale Modeling Competition Called M’Con. So SMC has gather around 30 modelers from the club to do this mess group build to show our support to local scale modeling community.

These few weeks the weather is very bad, Always raining cats and dogs so finally today I managed to get this little bugger done Finally finish all the painting on this kit. I’m naming it Anubis Gn-X.

As it belongs to the unknown group I think i could add some major differences to the kit itself without taking away the 4 eyes on it face and the X on it body.
For more info on
Some modification is done like adding the horn on the head, Extending the shoulders of the kit to house the extra pair of arms i managed to salvage from my other kits. I have painted the spare arms in bronze colour to signify that the arms unit it more of a extra weapon pack that the Anubis can take upon. Actually during the planning phase I have design a bike/horse look alike from my old kits parts but later i gave up the idea as it makes no sense to have a GN-X ride a horse or bike LOLZ. Also done some detailing to the overall kit itself like the extra exhaust outlet on the internal gn-drive and some other outer armor parts of the kit itself.

If you had notice I had added some semi-hieroglyphs on the major parts of this GN-X itself. The hieroglyphs is not accurate but it just to give it a feel of egyptian itself. I will still have to work on the weathering so the art work will blend in. Another thing to note it after I have managed to fixed the kit up the 1st time after painting. It somehow gave me a feeling it looks like a Armored Core kit LOLZ.

So far this is the update and i will do the panel lines and decals after this weekend as there are the airbrushing course coming up this Sunday 🙂 It gonna be a busy weekend everyone :). So I shall not keep everyone waiting. This is my Anubis GN-X and it going to bear the code number 00
